# Glossary of Terms

**Cryptocurrency** An asset realized through blockchain technology (synonyms: crypto asset, virtual currency).

**ERC-20** A technical standard used for smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain, representing what are known as tokens.

**COT** The ticker (abbreviation) for Cosplay Token.

**User** A person who uses COT services.

**Player** Content providers such as cosplayers and photographers.

**Smart Contract** A program on the blockchain that automatically executes various contract terms.

**Blockchain** A distributed ledger system, represented by Bitcoin and Ethereum.

**Ethereum** An open-source, blockchain-based distributed platform and operating system with smart contract functionality.

**Polygon/Matic Network** A blockchain led by Polygon Technologies that is compatible with Ethereum.

**NFT (Non-Fungible Token)** Tokens that each have individual characteristics. Examples include ownership of art and digital trading cards.

**LP (Liquidity Provider)** Also called liquidity provision, refers to people who provide tokens necessary for buying and selling.
